Contestant 18: Alexey Sychev
Alexey Sychev began studying music at the age of seven, and had his soloist debut with orchestra playing Beethoven Concerto No. 1 at the age of ten. He has become a laureate of numerous international and national competitions. In 2014, he received the 1st prize and audience prize of the XLI International Musical Competition “Dr. Luis Sigall” (Chile) and 3rd prize of A.Casagrande International Piano Competition (Italy); in 2013, 3rd prize and audience prize of G.B. Viotti International Music Competition.
Alexey is the 1st prize winner of World Online Piano Competition 2012 (USA), 1st prize of International Piano Competition of Princess Lalla Meryem 2012 (Morocco), 1st prize of International Piano Competition “Ennio Porrino” 2012 (Cagliari, Italy), 2nd prize and critics prize of San Marino International piano competition 2010, 1st prize of International Piano Competition “Premio Franz Liszt” 2009 (Italy), among many others. Alexey received a scholarship of “Russian art of performance” foundation and M. Rostropovich foundation scholarship.
Alexey Sychev has performed recitals in Brazil, Chile, France, Germany, Italy, Israel, Morocco, Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Switzerland, USA, and has performed with orchestras throughout Russia, Europe and South America. He recorded a CD with the Czech Radio. Alexey participated in master-classes of Klaus Hellwig, Paul Badura-Skoda, Jerome Rose, Dominique Merlet, Sergei Dorensky, Naum Starkman and other renowned pianists.
Alexey graduated with a diploma of distinction from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, where he studied with Alexei Nasedkin, and continued his graduate studies with Pavel Nersessian and Alexei Nabioulin. Currently, Alexey studies in Mozarteum University Salzburg with Jacques Rouvier.
