Krzysztof KsiazekPoland

    Krzysztof Ksiazek was born in Krakow (Poland) in 1992. Semifinalist and winner of extra-statutory prizes during the 17th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. He began his music education at the age of 9 in the piano class of Grazyna Hesko- Kolodzinska, M.A, at  S. Wiechowicz 1st Degree State Music School in Krakow. Since 2005, he has been under the tutelage of Prof. Stefan Wojtas, first as a student at  F.Chopin  State Secondary Music School in Krakow, then at Academy of Music in Krakow (Bachelor degree). In June this year he gratuated from F. Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz (Master degree). Currently he works with Arie Vardi at Hochschule fur Musik, Theater und Medien in Hannover..

    He is a winner of highest prizes at national and international competitions: 1st Prize at the X Ludwik Stefański and Halina Czerny- Stefańska Piano Competition, Grand Prix and a special prize for the best performance of works by Chopin  (Płock 2008), XV Concurs International de Piano Ricard Vines- 2nd Prize (Lleida, Spain 2009), The International Chopin Piano Competition- 1st Prize, Grand Prix, (Lvov, Ukraine 2010), The II American Paderewski Piano Competition- 2nd Prize and Special Prize for Best Performance of Paderewski (Los Angeles, USA 2013), IX International Paderewski Piano Competition- Special Prize for Best Polish Participant ( Bydgoszcz, 2013).  The Frederic Chopin National Piano Competition- 1st Prize, Special Prize ( Warsaw, 2013), The Frederic Chopin National Piano Competition- 2nd Prize (Warsaw, 2015), Concours International de Musique de l’Orchestre Philharmonique du Maroc- 3rd Prize (Casablanca, Morocco 2016).

    The artist performed at the 67th and 69th International Chopin Piano Festival in Duszniki Zdroj,  XVIII International Festival of Young Laureats of Music Competitions “Silesia” in Katowice, and the 2nd Artur Rubinstein Festival of Łódź Philharmonics. He gave concerts in Japan, USA, France, Great Britain, Germany, Ukraine, Switzerland, Russia, Italy, Slovakia, Hungary, Republic of South Africa and Poland.  He has perfomed under the baton of, among others, J. Kasprzyk, T. Strugala W. Michniewski, O. Holst, A. Humala, M. Mos, S. Krawczynski, W. Rodek, P. Sulkowski. In March 2014 he received Krystian Zimerman Scholarship. He has participated in masterclasses conducted by such famous artists as Y. Kaplinsky, T. Ungar, D. Yoffe, E. Indjic, Dang Thai Son, W. Switala, B. Petruschansky. His interests includes also chamber music, on which he receives instructions from Prof. K.Danczowska, J. Danczowska and S. Cierpik. He is represented by L. van Beethoven Society.
