Oda has the heavy task of defending the Norwegian colors at this year’s Top of the World. Judging from her qualities, few would be better suited.
Norwegian pianist, Oda Voltersvik, holds Master in Performance degree from the Royal College of Music in London (RCM) 2014, and studies at present with professor Gabriele Baldocci for the Postgraduate Artist Diploma at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance 2015. She has played for international pianists including Leif Ove Andsnes, Menahem Pressler, Gary Graffmann, Ian Brown, Christina Ortiz, Alexander Kobrin, Marios Papadopoulos and Vladimir Krainev.
Concert venues at which she has performed, include the Norwegian National Broadcasting, opening concert during the Grieg Jubilee 2007, Jacqueline du Pré Concert Hall in Oxford, the 1st International Folk Music Festival in Beijing, several solo and chamber music concerts for the Bergen Chamber Music Society and Grieg in Bergen Series.
She has also given concerts with the Sinfonietta of Athens and Norwegian–Polish Youth Orchestra in Poland and in Bergen 2014, as well as recitals in many venues in London, including The Norwegian Embassy, Conway Hall, Regent Hall and Amaryllis Fleming Hall. In august 2014, she was Artist in residence at Troldhaugen (Grieg`s home) with her own recital and lunch concerts for one week.
In 2015, Oda has given solo recitals with Beethoven, Grieg and Prokofiev, as well having performed with pianist Giulio Potenza, with whom she has formed a piano duo Volt & Potenza. At the opening of Bergen Chamber Music Society 80th Anniversary, she played with master students from New York, Barratt Due Music Academy, Norwegian Academy of Music and The Norwegian Opera Orchestra, the Sinding Piano Quintet and also played Prokofiev solo.
