Top 2013 Denis Zhdanov 2As a testament of the vibrant classical music scene in Ukraine, three contenders from there have been selected to compete at Top of the World 2013. And Denis Zhdanov is among the hotly tipped names.

Zhdanov’s artistic activity includes performances in such well-known concert halls as a Warsaw Philharmonic, Palau de la Musica de Barcelona, Auditori de Tenerife, KulturGasteig Munich, Salle Cortot Paris, L’Auditori Barcelona and others.

Denis has appeared with a large amount of orchestras of the world, namely the Valles Symphony (Spain), Orchestra Symphonic de Tenerife, Granada Symphonic Orchestra, the Pomeranian Symphony (Poland), Bilbao Symphony, the Polish Camerata, the “Nova Amadeus” Chamber Orchestra (Italy), the Georgian National Symphony, and the “Simfonia Iuventus” Orchestra (Poland), among others.

He knows what a trophy feels like in the hand, having won numerous piano competitions, including International Maria Canals Piano Competition in Barcelona; “Cherny-Stefanska in Memoriam” IPC in Poznan, Poland; International Youth Piano Competition “Arthur Rubinstein in Memoriam” in Bydgoszcz, Poland; International Piano Competition “Roma 2009: Chopin Prize”

His debut CD was with Chopin’s works for A. Rubinstein International Foundation in 2010 . The following year he released Sonatas of Padre A. Soler on the Naxos label.
