Slava Sidorenko is another piano magician from the huge crop of young Ukraine talents.
Having begun his musical education at the age of five, Sidorenko was awarded an Associated Board (ABRSM) scholarship to study with Norma Fisher at the Royal Northern College of Music (UK) in 2003.
Here, he went on to win on to win many major awards, including the coveted RNCM Gold Medal. His numerous competition successes include 1st Prize in the Luzenko International Piano Competition in Ukraine, 1st Prize in Moray International Piano Competition in Scotland, 1st Prize in Sevenoaks Young Musician of the Year, and likewise at the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Scholarship and Jacques Samuel Intercollegiate Piano Competition. He was also a finalist in the Busoni International Piano Competition in 2007 and awarded the Silver Medal of The Worshipful Company of Musicians in 2008.
Slava has appeared as recital and concerto soloist in the Ukraine, Germany, Italy and UK. He made his debut in 2009 at the Wigmore Hall, as winner of the Jacques Samuel Intercollegiate Piano Competition, receiving glowing reviews and at the Bridgewater Hall, also with the Manchester Camerata, in 2010. He was recently appointed as RNCM Ambassador.
